Scrapping a previous denial, the actor-rapper pleaded guilty to one felony count of possession of a dangerous weapon in connection with his arrest last September at Orange County's John Wayne Airport for trying to carry a collapsible baton onboard a flight to New York. Originally, the hip-hop star had claimed that the baton, which airport security detected in his carry-on, was a prop for a music video and he did not know it was a forbidden item (having been so careful to stuff all his liquids into a little plastic baggie and all).

Sam Baker, Pretty World
When Sam Baker was in his early thirties, a terrorist bomb blew up the train he was riding in Peru. Eight died in the attack. Among many other injuries, Baker lost all hearing in one ear and partial hearing in the other. Because of this disability, his gravelly, blurred singing sounds very odd, even disturbing at first.

Sadly, it looks like the post-VMAs head injury Mastodon guitarist/vocalist Brent Hinds suffered in the early morning hours of September 10 may have been more his fault than previously imagined.

Political punk rockers Anti-Flag have released a limited edition EP called A Benefit For Victims of Violent Crime. The EP contains five new tracks and five live tracks that were recorded at Mr. Smalls in Pittsburgh, PA last April. The CD has been released under Anti-Flag’s own label A-F Records.
The Pittsburgh, PA crew has been together since 1988 and is one of the stand out punk acts in the music scene today.

While Fugees fans might be disappointed by Pras Michel’s recent comments that the ground-breaking hip-hop group’s plans to reunite for an album have fallen through, Michel tells Popeater his real concern is for former band mate Lauryn Hill. “I’m praying for Lauryn Hill,” he says. “She went AWOL [and] to be honest with you, I don’t really care as much as I do for her mental stability. It’s more important for her to be mentally stable.
